As a result of a conversation with the doctor I went to due to a health problem I had recently encountered, I started to learn and research about a vaccine. Many medical people in our country and in the world are making many innovations in the field of health every day. Among these, there is a vaccine that is developed for young girls and boys and aims to prevent cancer diseases that are especially life-threatening. It is HPV. It is a vaccine recommended by national public health authorities in 22 countries around the world, including countries such as Germany, England, USA and Australia. In many parts of the world, vaccination studies continue at very affordable prices and even without payment in some countries. This vaccine, which prevents many cancers, especially on behalf of girls, and reduces the possibility of catching them in later ages, has started to be applied in our country on a paid basis. The fees of these vaccines, which are 3 doses in total, are very high in terms of access for many families in our country. Having this vaccine is important enough to prevent death of many people with a family history of cancer in their gene map. However, transportation opportunities are limited due to financial difficulties. Well, isn’t such a situation an important field of study in terms of human rights? During the covid-19 epidemic, which has occupied the world for about 2 years, many campaigns were organized for the underdeveloped countries that could not reach the covid-19 vaccines and are still continuing. It is stated that keeping the promise that vaccines will be shared at a high rate at the G7 summit causes human rights abuses. I think a similar situation exists for the HPV vaccine. We may not be talking about a global epidemic. However, it should be noted that it is not correct to demand financially compelling wages in order to benefit from the right to health, which is a human right. I think that it is of great importance that the government and the ministry of health work to make discounts in order to ensure equal access to health opportunities.
